London 2025

London – what more can be said? London is, in a way, close to my heart. In other words, I love London – the bustle of a big city, the crowds of people from all kinds of nationalities, cultures, and languages. History seems to radiate from this city, along with a mystical atmosphere of legends and myths – from ghosts, dwarfs, and witches to mysterious druids.

The architecture of the city itself is stunning and breathtaking. History blends with modernity here, and the overall impression is simply phenomenal. I love the feeling of wandering aimlessly through the streets, tasting some local delicacies here and there, and observing the flow of people around me. Watching the Thames, the crowds of tourists, and both the beautiful historic landmarks and modern buildings.

People here are, I would say, friendly and welcoming. You can be anyone, dress however you like, and no one will judge you – in fact, they probably won't even notice you. But if you are looking for something, anyone will gladly help and point you in the right direction with a smile. I have visited London several times – alone, with my wife, and with my son – and it never ceases to fascinate me. I always discover something new worth seeing.

Last year, my wife and I visited the Christmas markets, including Winter Wonderland, and of course several of the main landmarks. As almost always, it rained (haha), but that did not change the amazing atmosphere we experienced. Even the rain feels different here – falling straight down from the sky :), accompanied by a cold wind that cuts right through you. You watch people taking shelter from the rain and cold in local pubs and bars, while locals seem almost immune, walking around in their wax jackets as if nothing is happening.

Even rainy London has its charm, and I have seen it like this several times. However, I must say I have also been lucky enough to experience a beautiful sunny day, when people bask in the sun like lizards, trying to absorb as many warm rays as possible.

I can definitely recommend the Christmas markets, as the decorations throughout London – department stores, Bond Street and Oxford Street – in fact, the whole city – shine with festive lights, and everyone enjoys the Christmas atmosphere. You can taste countless delicious treats and warm drinks, listen to Christmas music, skate on outdoor ice rinks, or enjoy attractions at Winter Wonderland and various fairgrounds across the city.

A boat ride on the Thames, whether by sightseeing boat or Uber Boat, is also well worth it. You can see practically all the landmarks along the river, including the London Eye, which offers a beautiful view over the entire city. (I recommend booking well in advance, ideally with fast-track entry.)

The famous Tower Bridge, whose visit is almost a must in London, also offers the opportunity to explore inside the bridge and walk across the glass floor high above people passing below. It is a wonderful experience with great views of the skyscrapers, a historic warship, and the city itself.

Of course, there are many more landmarks, among the most famous being Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, Trafalgar Square, the Tower, Buckingham Palace, St James's Park, and many others.

Food in Chinatown is definitely worth trying, and don't forget to take a ride on a red double-decker bus, although the Underground stations themselves are also worth seeing. The local metro is one of the oldest in the world.

London is simply amazing – a beautiful city where there is always something new to discover. I also highly recommend it for concerts, whether classical music or anything else to your taste. I attended Hans Zimmer's tour at the O2 Arena, and the experience was indescribable. 18,000 spectators – what more can I say, a truly powerful experience. The Royal Albert Hall, where I am heading for a piano concert, offers a completely different kind of magic. Simply put – London is a city of endless possibilities.

To conclude, I will add a few photos for a better impression. And to everyone – travel, learn languages, and travel again. Enjoy life.
